World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March 2015 we celebrated World Book Day.

The staff and children had a fun filled day dressed up as book characters. Lots of children had fantastic costumes.

The children in 3-4’s made their own books, practicing their mark-making. The also made gingerbread men, then went around the garden to find the gingerbread men.

In 2-3’s they acted out the ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ to encourage the children to use their imagination and remember the story.

Deputy Manager Charlotte Weech said ‘Themed days are a fantastic way to engage the children, encouraging the love of books is a fundamental step towards school readiness’
